Well don't I feel silly. For the past n-months I've been dragging the spam that Outlook 2003 doesn't flag into the Junk Mail folder. Alarm bells went off when I saw that an updated filter had been made available. After further investigation it's pretty clear that yes, Outlook 2003 does use a bayesian filter, but no, despite my futile dragging efforts, it's not going to get any better.
